The Egypt national football team, known as The Pharaohs, is the most successful side in Africa with a record seven Africa Cup of Nations titles, including three in a row from 2006 to 2010. They were the first African team to play at a FIFA World Cup in 1934 and also qualified in 1990 and 2018. Led by captain Mohamed Salah, Egypt are among Africa’s top-ranked teams and remain strong contenders in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
