Israel

The Israel national football team, governed by the Israel Football Association, won the AFC Asian Cup in 1964 and remains Israel’s only major international trophy. They also qualified for the FIFA World Cup in 1970 and have surprisingly reached the Olympic quarterfinals twice (1968 and 1976). Over the years, Israel has competed under three different confederations (Asia, Oceania, and Europe), settling into UEFA in the early 1990s.
