The Latvia national football team, managed by the Latvian Football Federation, played its first match in 1922 and has competed internationally since regaining independence in 1991. Their highlight came with qualification for UEFA Euro 2004—their only appearance at a major finals—where they secured a remarkable draw against Germany. Regionally, they are the most successful team in the Baltic Cup, winning it 13 times.
