Luxembourg

The Luxembourg national football team, nicknamed the Red Lions, is run by the Luxembourg Football Federation and has never qualified for a FIFA World Cup or UEFA European Championship, holding the record for most attempts without success. Recently, however, they reached new heights by finishing third in their Euro 2024 qualifying group and competing in the play-offs. Luxembourg has steadily risen in the FIFA rankings, improving from 142nd in 2001 to a peak of 83rd in 2017.
