The Slovakia national football team, governed by the Slovak Football Association, has qualified for four major tournaments since independence: the 2010 World Cup and the Euros in 2016, 2020, and 2024. Their standout moment came in 2010 with a Round of 16 appearance after a famous group-stage win over Italy. At Euro 2024, they knocked out Belgium with a 1–0 shock win and advanced to the Round of 16 under coach Francesco Calzona.
