The Slovenia national football team, run by the Football Association of Slovenia, became independent in 1992 and has since qualified for Euro 2000, the 2002 and 2010 World Cups, and Euro 2024. Their first and only tournament win came against Algeria (1–0) at the 2010 World Cup, while at Euro 2024 they advanced to the Round of 16 after drawing all three group matches. Legendary players include Boštjan Cesar (most caps), Zlatko Zahovič (top scorer), and goalkeeper Jan Oblak.
